    Health isn’t just the absence of diseases, it actually goes beyond that. Good health is defined as the state of physical, mental and social well-being. When a person is healthy, he is bound to be more efficient at anything he does. The three key elements to good health are a balanced diet, regular exercise, and hygiene.

    How does food impact our health?

    The food we eat is our source of nutrition. It helps our bodies to function regularly and provides the energy to carry out every task smoothly. The energy is derived from macronutrients – carbohydrates, fats, and protein, all of which are found in food.
    When we consume food, our body breaks it down and digests it in the gastrointestinal tract. After digestion, the nutrients from the food is absorbed and transferred into the bloodstream. The heart then pumps the blood throughout our body in order to send those nutrients to every last cell. This is what helps us function on a daily basis.

    How does the food you eat impact your health?

    Our body receives signals from the food we eat. If we’re eating good and nutritious food, the nutrition derived from it are passed on to our cells. If our cells receive all the vitamins, minerals and water that they need, then they stay healthy. Since cells are the basic building blocks of our body, their health reflects on our overall health. When the cells are getting enough oxygen and other nutritions, they are able to function smoothly. Healthy cells and proper amounts of nutrition also ensures that we don’t fall sick and that all the organs work as they should.
